How to Customize the Notification Sound on Instagram
For Android Users
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your device.
Step 2: Scroll down and Tap on Apps and then Apps Management as per the model of your phone.
Step 3: From the list of installed apps, look for the Instagram App and tap on it.
Step 4: Tap on Manage Notifications.
Step 5: Different categories of notifications, such as Messages, Likes, Requests, Mentions, Comments, Likes, etc. are available. Tap on the notification type for which you want to change the sound (for example, Direct messages).
Step 6: Tap on Ringtone or Sound.
Step 7: Select a new notification sound from the available options on the ringtone. You can also add your custom sound if your device allows you to do so.
Do the same thing for other notification types too if you want to set different ringtones for likes, mentions, or story replies, and so on.
Now, whenever you receive any notification on Instagram, the sound that you have set for the notification category will be played instead of the default notification tone.
For iPhone Users
On iPhones, Instagram uses the default notification sound as notification sounds are controlled by iOS. You need to change the notification sound on iOS if you want to change it for your Instagram App.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Sounds & Haptics.
Step 3: Tap Text Tone.
Step 4: Choose the sound you want.
This will not only change the sound for Instagram notifications but also for all general notifications. You can’t customize the notification sound for a specific app, as iPhones don’t currently support the same. You can customize the notification sound for an app only if he app has its built-in setting (which Instagram doesn’t).
You can easily change and customize the notification sound for the Instagram App on your Android mobile; however, the same is not fully customizable on an iPhone as of now.
